Straight Outta L.A.
ESPN's 30 For 30 series comes back with what should be another hit tonight, Straight Outta L.A. It's directed by Ice Cube, who studied the arts at NYU and earned a Master's in film from Princeton. Kidding. There's no way Cube made it past Geometry. Trapezoids and parallelograms were way too phony for this hustla. The film should answer questions like: "As the nation's 2nd biggest city, why does L.A. not have a pro football team?", "How is Al Davis in charge of anything?", and "Where can I get an L.A. Raiders adjustable lid?" Honestly, the two hats on the right in the above picture seem less like they're straight outta Compton and more straight outta the Mods. Do I smell a revival of extinct L.A. Raiders gear-alá Montreal Expos, Hartford Whalers, Seattle Sonics? 8ET, on the Worldwide Leader of Sports.
